“We are delighted to share with you Catholic Education Week 2022 resources to support schools and parishes to address the theme:“Communion, Participation, Mission”. Resources are organised to support schools, parishes and families and are linked to “Primary” and “Secondary” learning. There are additional materials for teachers who can select and adapt the suggested Learning Activities for each sector to meet the needs of pupils at various stages. Some background reading materials are also suggested. In addition, SCES have launched a new initiative this year, encouraging all Catholic schools in Scotland to participate in a national Prayer Breakfast to celebrate the beginning of Catholic Education Week 2022. It is anticipated that this initiative will:
Create an opportunity for the parish, school, and families to join in prayer and reflection.
Raise awareness of the distinctive nature of Catholic schools.
Create a platform for Catholic schools, and young people to showcase their successes.
Encourage cross sector collaboration (primary and secondary celebrating together) and community involvement.
The resources have been added to the SCES website to be used in schools, in parishes and at home to encourage participation in this event...” Louise Elliot, Education Adviser, Scottish Catholic Education Service
