From Thursday 12th May (our first Vigil of our new season), you are invited to join us for the Fatima Vigils which will be held on Thurday evenings from May -October.
We will revert to our pre-Covid format: church and hall open from 7pm; rosary procession round the grounds (weather permitting); Mass, followed by a period of Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with Benediction.
This will give us the perfect opportunity to respond to the plea from our Holy Father Pope Francis that we implore Our Blessed Lady for peace in Ukraine.
All welcome!
"In these unsettled times across the world, Catholics are invited to rediscover Our Lady of Fatima’s appeal for First Saturdays Devotions to pray for the conversion of the world and peace on earth. The First Saturdays are an appeal to return to the Sacrament of Confession, to attend Holy Mass in a state of grace,
to pray the Rosary—the spiritual weapon for these times—and to adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and meditation on the Sacred Scriptures."
Join Bishop John
in St Mirin’s Cathedral or online from 8am
for Mass, Adoration, Rosary, Scriptural Meditation and
Simple Benediction.
Mass will be celebrated at 10am
followed by the opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Vatican’s Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments
Pope Francis has given the Virgin Mary three new titles which will be added to the Catholic Church’s traditional “Litany of Mary,”
The new titles are:
“Mother of Mercy” “Mother of Hope” “Comfort of Migrants”
The titles will be added to the Litany of Mary, called the
“Litany of Loreto,” (usually recited during the rosary or on major feasts). The first new title is to be placed after “Mother of the Church,” the second after “Mother of Divine Grace,” while the third will go after Mary’s designation as “Refuge of Sinners.”

The Litany of The Blessed Virgin Mary
Also known as the Litany of Loreto, it is a popular prayer of supplication, once prayed in processions to atone for sins and to prevent calamities. Pilgrims at the famous Marian Shrine in Loreto, Italy used it in the 16th century and it was approved in 1587 by Pope Sixtus V.
Although it is often prayed privately, especially after the Rosary, the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary has the distinction of being one of only six litanies approved for public recitation by the Holy See.
Its invocations to our Blessed Mother include titles given to her by the early Church Fathers in the first few centuries of Christianity. The Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary has also been set to music (as the Litany of Loreto) by such celebrated composers as Palestrina, Charpentier, and Mozart.
Lord, have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, have mercy on us.
