The Diocese has a dedicated page on the website for Marriage and Family life. It contains a wealth of information, support and resources for many aspects of this important vocation.
As part of your preparation you are invited to attend a marriage preparation course for engaged couples designed to encourage you, enrich your relationship and enhance your understanding of the Catholic Church's teaching on marriage and family life.
“The goal of this preparation consists, namely, in helping engaged couples to know and to live the reality of marriage as it is intended to be celebrated, so that it is possible to do so not only validly and lawfully, but also fruitfully, so that they are able to make this celebration a stage of their journey of faith.” Pope Francis
MASS FOR MARRIAGE
Bishop John warmly invites all who wish to celebrate the gift of marriage, especially engaged and married couples, to the Diocese of Paisley's Annual Mass for Marriage at 11am on Sunday 11th June 2023 in St Mirin's Cathedral. Reception in the Cathedral Hall to follow. Details of those celebrating significant anniversaries can be emailed to Rebecca Harrison at the Marriage and Family Office (marriageandfamily@rcdop.org.uk)
Paisley Diocese has a Counselling Service for Catholics Married in the Catholic Church with our dedicated Catholic Marriage Counsellor.
If you are concerned about your relationship and feel you are both unable to reach a conclusion alone, it is likely that you will benefit from marriage counselling. The counsellor is there to maintain a neutral, non-judgmental position. For information or advice please email in confidence. counselling@rcdop.org.uk
