Bishop Keenan celebrated Mass during which he dedicated the new church of St Fergus in Paisley (out of what was formerly the parish hall) on Friday 15th September, 2023 - the Solemnity of St Mirin.
Bishop Keenan's annual Safeguarding Announcement will be read out in October 2023. This year’s Safeguarding Announcement will be read out at all Masses on the weekend closest to the Feast of the Guardian Angels (Monday 2nd October).
Our series of talks, Christ in the Covenants, will explore salvation history through the lens of God's covenantal relationships with mankind. Young adults aged 18-35 are invited to a series of talks that will engage and inform them about salvation history. Coming along will also help them to meet other young Catholics from in and around the Diocese of Paisley. The first Talk is on Wednesday 11th October. Talks begin at 7pm in the Diocesan Office and will be followed by adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to socialise in a local bar. Bishop John invites you to fast and pray on the First Friday of each month to protect the unborn child and for the flourishing of the Pro-Life movement so that our society will build an authentic culture of life. Join your priests throughout the diocese on the First Friday of each month as we pray for life! To begin our next Novena of Masses for Life, Bishop John will offer Holy Mass in St Mirin's Cathedral, Paisley on Friday, the 6th October, at 7 PM; Adoration & Confession from 6 PM.
The Diocese of Paisley is blessed to host this week the relics of Saints Andrew, Margaret, and Columba. The relics are on a tour around dioceses in Britain, in association with the Knights of St Columba. They will arrive in St Mirin's Cathedral on Sunday 1st October at 5pm. Evening Prayer will be prayed at this time, as the relics are welcomed. The relics will remain on view for private veneration until after 10am Mass on Tuesday morning. Bishop Keenan will celebrate Mass in the presence of the relics at 7pm on Monday 2nd October. All are welcome to attend.
