As part of our shared commitment to improving safeguarding practice across our Diocese, a joint Parish Priest & PSC Training Event has been arranged for Thursday 22nd May at 6pm at St Mirin’s Church Hall. Areas that will covered on the night include recent changes to Disclosure & PVG legislation; what good safeguarding governance looks like within Parishes; and also to promote some forthcoming survivor support and localised training events. Bishop John will also attend the event as part of his Pastoral role in supporting our parish communities to feel safe & protected. A little note for all our young people at the Youth Hub. The Youth Hub is now closed for the Easter break and we will start back up again on Sunday 4th May 2025. Book Project Raffle: A heartfelt THANK YOU to each one of you, for your support and contribution towards the success of the Youth Hub’s raffle for refugee children and young people. The response was heartwarming and very much appreciated. With your help we raised £1,500! In the Church porch, there is a list of all the lucky winners and their prizes! If you are fortunate enough to be a winner, then please collect your prize from the parish hall after the ten o’clock Mass. During the Easter holidays, Children's Liturgy will continue as normal on the following Sundays: 6th April, 13th April and 20th April (Easter Sunday). In addition, on Good Friday, we have our own Children's Good Friday Liturgy in the hall commencing at 3pm. This is open to all children from pre-school up to Primary 7. The service will include: Stations of the Cross, followed by ‘reverence’ of the Cross, and, if possible, time for the children to complete an activity relating to the Good Friday Liturgy. We hope to see as many children as possible at this service. This peaceful prayer vigil runs each day in Lent on the corner of Shieldhall Road and Hardgate Road - a location agreed upon with Police Scotland. All are welcome to join in quiet prayer for an end to abortion and recognition that all life is precious.
will take place in St Mirin’s Cathedral Halls on the first Friday of every month (in term time), from 6-8pm. The first such event will take place on Friday 2nd May, in the days after the canonisation of Blessed Carlo Acutis, under whose patronage we will work. Initially, these events will be open to pupils in S4, S5 and S6. Once they are established—sometime in the new academic year—we hope to open them up to pupils in S1, S2 and S3.
