Christmas Eve: 4pm & 6.30pm. Christmas Day: 10am & 12 Noon. This year Christmas Day, which is a Holy Day of Obligation, falls on a Monday. To fulfil our obligation for both the 4th Sunday of Advent and The Solemnity of The Nativity of The Lord, we are obliged to attend two Masses.
The Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments has confirmed the approval by the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland for the new Lectionary. The Lectionary, which includes the scripture readings for Mass and the sacraments, will come into use in Catholic parishes in Scotland from Advent 2024, the beginning of the Holy Year. The English Standard Version Catholic Edition (ESVCE) will be used to ensure that ‘the treasures of the Bible can be opened up more lavishly for the faithful at the table of God’s word.’ (Sacrosanctum Concilium 51).
Due to the rising costs of heating and lighting it is not possible to have the church opened outside of Mass/Service times. Please know that the church will be open at least one hour before all Masses or Services to allow for some private prayer. Thank you for your understanding.
