As part of our shared commitment to improving safeguarding practice across our Diocese, a joint Parish Priest & PSC Training Event has been arranged for Thursday 22nd May at 6pm at St Mirin’s Church Hall. Areas that will covered on the night include recent changes to Disclosure & PVG legislation; what good safeguarding governance looks like within Parishes; and also to promote some forthcoming survivor support and localised training events. Bishop John will also attend the event as part of his Pastoral role in supporting our parish communities to feel safe & protected. Please advise our Safeguarding Admin office of your availability to attend at [email protected] or via telephone on 0141 847 6138. A light buffet & refreshments will be available on the night. For any additional information required please contact our Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor, Gerry McBride at [email protected] or 07939 486290.
This peaceful prayer vigil runs each day in Lent on the corner of Shieldhall Road and Hardgate Road - a location agreed upon with Police Scotland. All are welcome to join in quiet prayer for an end to abortion and recognition that all life is precious.
The Church ardently urges that respect for the dignity of the human person beyond all circumstances be placed at the centre of the commitment to the common good and at the centre of every legal system. Please ask your MSPs and MPs not to allow assisted suicide to become legal in Scotland: https://writetothem.com
