The pre-pilgrimage meeting will be held in St Ninian's Hall, Gourock on Sunday 8th June at 2pm. This is an opportunity meet fellow pilgrims and find out information regarding the pilgrimage. You can also ask any questions you may have. We would recommend that you attend or send a representative to the meeting. Also a reminder that all pilgrims are asked to make their own way to Glasgow airport for the commencement of the pilgrimage.
Sunday 18th May - St Francis', Port Glasgow: Bishop John and the Marriage, Family, and Life Commission warmly invite you to join families throughout the Diocese for an afternoon of celebration & fun in honour of Mary, our Mother! The day will begin at 2 pm in St Francis of Assisi - Port Glasgow parish hall and will include prayer, games, activities for children and refreshments for all. We will conclude with Holy Mass at 4pm, celebrated by Bishop John.

As part of our shared commitment to improving safeguarding practice across our Diocese, a joint Parish Priest & PSC Training Event has been arranged for Thursday 22nd May at 6pm at St Mirin’s Church Hall. Areas that will covered on the night include recent changes to Disclosure & PVG legislation; what good safeguarding governance looks like within Parishes; and also to promote some forthcoming survivor support and localised training events. Bishop John will also attend the event as part of his Pastoral role in supporting our parish communities to feel safe & protected. On Friday 9th May Mgr. Charles Cavanagh’s body will be brought to St. Mary's Presbytery for those who wish to pay their respects. This will begin on Saturday 10th May after the morning Mass and continue until 6pm. This will be repeated on Sunday 11th and on Monday 12th.
A Mass will be held in St Mirin's Cathedral at 7pm Monday 5 May 2025 celebrated by Bishop John Keenan with permission from Archbishop Nolan to remember Fr Des Broderick who died on Good Shepherd Sunday 21 April 2024. All welcome.
