80s Themed Disco Night: (scheduled for Friday 29th November) has been postponed. It has been rescheduled until early in the New Year and the new date will be confirmed in due course. Sincere apologies to those of you who were looking forward to the event, and to those of you who had already sourced their 80s outfit! Please do not worry, I am sure it will be fine hanging up in your wardrobe until the New Year..!
'Adult' Quiz Night’ (16+): Friday 25th October 2024 from 7.30pm in the Pastoral & Social Centre. You are asked to get a 'Team' together - up to a maximum of six. Tickets: £5.00 per head are now on sale at all Masses this weekend. This event will take place on Friday 29th November 2024 from 7.30pm in the Pastoral & Social Centre. Again this is an 'adult' only event. Tickets priced at £5.00 per head will be on sale nearer the time of the event, along with further details. In the meantime, please think about your 'dress' for the evening, as 80's fancy dress is encouraged, with a prize for the best 80's themed dresser!! You have plenty time to get your thinking caps on.......so no excuses!!
This event will take place on Friday 25th October 2024 from 7.30 pm in the Pastoral & Social Centre. The event is aimed at those aged 16+ over. You are asked to get a 'Team' together - up to a maximum of six. Tickets priced at £5.00 per head will be on sale in the next few weeks.
The new session will commence in early September once the schools have returned. Our sincere thanks must go to the Children's Liturgy leaders, and senior pupils from St. Ninian's High School, for the help, support and spiritual guidance which they have given to the children over the past year. Thank you also to the parents/carers of the children who attend, for their support and co-operation throughout the year. As always, the Children's Liturgy Group are looking for volunteers/leaders to assist with this very important ministry, when it resumes in September. Thank you to everyone who attended our Family Fun Day & Barbecue last Sunday afternoon. I think we can safely say it was an outstanding success, and as promised, the beautiful sunny and warm weather ensured everyone had a wonderful time! There was a great atmosphere, and everyone entered into the spirit of the afternoon. A special word of thanks must go to our team of volunteers who assisted in a variety of roles, both in the preparation and at the event itself; our wonderful musicians, our face-painters, our home-bakers, and to all those who donated raffle prizes, thank you so very much indeed. See you all same time, same place next year.....!
SOCIAL COMMITTEE This Sunday (23rd June) is our Family Fun Day and Barbecue. The event kicks off at 2.30pm. Tickets are on sale at all Masses this weekend and will also be available ‘at the gate’ on the day. Donations of home-baking will be gratefully received and should be handed into the Pastoral & Social Centre from 9.30am on Sunday morning. Due to the summer school holidays and Family Fun Day next weekend, this Sunday (16th June 2024) will be the last of the teas/coffees. They will resume in early September, once the schools have returned. In the meantime, the Social Committee would like to take the opportunity of thanking all volunteers for their commitment and support and look forward to their continued help when teas/coffees resume after the summer break. As you are aware, this takes place in the Church grounds on Sunday 23rd June 2024 from 2.30 pm - 5.00pm. Tickets will be on sale from this weekend (1st/2nd June) priced at: Adults: £7.00 and Child: (over 3 years) £3.00. The price of the ticket includes: burgers/hot-dogs, ice-cream, soft drinks, tea-room, all the activities on offer (games, arts & crafts, music etc). The only thing you would be asked to buy on the day would be raffle tickets, and stand-up bingo tickets, if you wished. As this event has proved very popular in recent years, it is anticipated that tickets will be in high demand; therefore, please bring your cash with you next weekend to buy your tickets! The funds generated from this event, like all Social Committee events, will go to the Diocesan Ecclesiastic Students Fund. The Committee are also looking for donations for the raffle, as well as donations of home-baking for the tea-room. Any contributions will be gratefully received. The Committee are also looking for volunteers to assist with the event. Thank you to everyone who attended our very successful Race Night last Saturday evening. A total of £740 was raised from the event, and this money will go to the Diocesan Ecclesiastic Students Fund (as with all monies raised from events, and the Sunday morning teas/coffees). A special word of thanks to all who contributed in any way, to the success of our event. Particularly to our race sponsors, those who bought horses, those who bought tickets and had a ‘flutter’ on the night. Race Night (for adults only) - Saturday 27th April 2024 at 7.30pm: Tickets (priced at £5.00) are now on sale after all Masses this weekend. In addition, horses for the race night are available to buy, at a cost of £5.00 per horse. Secure your horse as soon as possible, to be in with a chance to win a prize if your horse wins the race! We are also looking for some sponsors for the races. To be a race sponsor, all we require is for you to donate a bottle of spirits or champagne. Your name (or business) will also be included in the Race Night programme. Unfortunately, due to lack of support and interest, and with only a handful of tickets sold, this event scheduled for Friday 15th March 2024 has been cancelled. The Social Committee of the Parish are very disappointed in having to make this decision but had no other option due to lack of support.
